How to Use Pinterest to Grow Your Traffic in 5 Steps Via Social King

One of the best ways to compare the true power of Pinterest is the “Digg-effect”; being on the front page of Digg, and being hit with such an overwhelming amount of traffic, your web server nearly goes offline. Pinterest is very similar to Digg in this respect, and in fact actually can drive more traffic than Digg can. When you hit the front page of Pinterest, your traffic doesn’t simply drop once you have left the front page. With the ability to “repin” and share the content within Pinterest, your content continues to be tossed around and shared on the Pinterest website, meaning your website will continue to get traffic and visitors for months after the initial wave of traffic. This means that Pinterest should now be considered a serious tool in any marketers arsenal.

How can you utilize Pinterest to grow your traffic and make your content go viral? Let’s take a look.

Step 1: Research
You need content that is going to win over the community of Pinterest. This means researching what is currently trending on Pinterest, and appealing to a larger audience. Look on the front page of Pinterest, and start picking up on design trends and patterns. Now think about how these trends can tie into the content of your blog.

Step 2: Design
Whether it’s an infographic, a comic, a meme, or just a simple image, remember to keep the title on the image as visible as possible, as it is the very first thing Pinterest visitors see when looking at your image.

Step 3: Upload
Upload your image to your website, and grab the URL that it is posted on. This is the URL you’ll be submitting to Pinterest for the world to see.

Step 4: Size It
Don’t make your image too large. The reason being is that the repin button is at the bottom of your image, and if you make your image or infographic 3000 pixels tall, Pinterest followers might not even be able to get to the bottom of the screen to share your content. Instead, make a preview image that is around 300 pixels big to entice visitors to click through to your content.

Step 5: Pin It!
Submit your content, and get as many people to repin it as possible. If your content hits the front page, enjoy the benefits of having a swarm of quality visitors to your website! Via Social King
